1. Referral Received

Referrals can be submitted via the secure referral form or emailed to reception@vasoflo.com.au. Receipt of the referral is acknowledged to the referring doctor.

  2. Referral Information Review

Vasoflo reviews the referral information to confirm the reason for referral, proposed treatment goals, and whether the referring doctor has addressed relevant contraindications or safety considerations.

Vasoflo does not independently diagnose, investigate or medically clear patients for EECP. Clinical suitability and contraindication screening remain the responsibility of the treating/referring doctor.

If any information is incomplete, unclear or suggests a potential safety concern, Vasoflo will contact the referring doctor for clarification before treatment proceeds.

  3. Patient Onboarding and Consent

The patient attends Vasoflo for onboarding prior to commencing treatment. This includes explanation of the EECP process, treatment schedule, expected time commitment, practical requirements and consent documentation.

  4. Treatment Plan

The treatment schedule is documented, including the proposed number of sessions, frequency and any practical considerations relevant to the patient's attendance.

Any modification to the standard schedule is made only where clinically appropriate, tolerated by the patient and consistent with the referring doctor's management plan.

  5. Typical EECP Course

A standard EECP course commonly involves 40 one-hour sessions over approximately eight weeks.

Treatment is generally delivered once daily on weekdays. In selected cases, twice-daily sessions may be considered if clinically appropriate and well tolerated.

  6. Monitoring During Sessions

During each EECP session, ECG and finger plethysmography are monitored to support treatment timing and delivery. Blood pressure is assessed before and after each session, and may be checked during treatment where clinically indicated.

Treatment tolerance, attendance and relevant observations are documented. If concerns arise during the course, Vasoflo will contact the referring doctor.

  7. Progress Updates

Progress updates can be provided to the referring doctor where requested, or where clarification is required during the treatment course.

  8. End-of-Treatment Summary

At the completion of the EECP course, Vasoflo can provide a written summary to the referring doctor.

This may include attendance, treatment tolerance, baseline and post-treatment symptom status, functional observations, blood pressure observations where relevant, and any issues encountered during treatment.

Ongoing cardiac management remains under the direction of the treating cardiologist or referring doctor.
